Dream Classroom

For Contract I made my dream classroom using Lucidchart. It has two big tables to work at, an inside pool, a social area/cloak bay, a big hexagon leather mat, two big stationary cabinets and a kitchen. If I had a chance to create a classroom like this I would.

Reading activity T1W4

For reading we have been reading a persuasive text about the Evil Drinking Fountain. We decided to write another persuasive text convincing someone the object we chose had a special power too. Here is my persuasive text about scissors.
We knew the scissors were evil because:

When I used the scissors for work I started to get a sore throat. An hour later I ended up going home, choking from the pain that invaded my throat.

When Austin used the scissors, he started to gag “ C-can’t breathe, can’t.. Breathe” people surrounded him as he suffered, people called for help, and others darted outside. Austin fell to the ground and a putrid green liquid escaped his mouth, people ran away in horror. it was horrible.

When Vetaia used the scissors, he just started to cough. Each hour the cough grew more hoarse and raspy. Vetaia wasn’t at school for a week, so all I can say Is that he did get sick from the scissors.

Character Word Cloud

For contract I made a word cloud describing a character. I used five words on how they look, act and what they do, here it is:

Maths activity 12.9.18

For maths we created shape sequential patterns using rods,we figured out the rule on a piece of paper mine was 1 + (PNx3). Here is my shape sequential pattern:


For reading we read a book called wired, its about a sculptor making trees out of no.8 wire. We answered questions on a google slideshow by skimming and scanning our text to find the answers then we had a go at creating our own wire plants.

I went onto the website Picasso Head and created this online artwork using different shapes and lines. I hope you like mine.

Little Scientist Video

In class for inquiry we did different science experiments. We had a go at making our own experiment. We used the Ipads to shoot scenes so we could make a video on how the experiment work and what you need for it. We then edited it on iMovie, we added music, titles and different themes to make it interesting.

Stop Motion Movie

In class we did a stop motion movie to show the stages of making a lego volcano. After we made the volcano we tipped 1 tsp of baking soda into the canister inside the lego volcano then we tipped1/4 of a cup of vinegar into the canister with the baking soda.

CC Search

I went onto the website CC search and typed up art. I found this piece of artwork I like. I like it because of the colours the artist has used to create the flower.

Reading Activity

For reading we made a padlet about a story called Mud pluggers. We broke the story into three parts, beginning, middle and end. I added two more parts, characters and the story name.

Puppet Pals

We learnt how to use the App Puppet Pals.  We added sound effects, characters and props to make an interesting movie.


For writing experience we created a cartoon using the website Toondoo. We used onomatopoeia which are words that describe sounds. For example words like boom and bang.

QuestionWhat will happen when we mix Plaster of Paris with water?

Materials Plaster of Paris, water, bowl, spoon, measuring cups, 2 plastic bags.

Method In a bowl tip 2 cups of Plaster of Paris and ¾ cup of water. Add some dye to colour it. Stir the mixture until there is are no lumps and it is smooth. Divide the mixture in half. Put half in one plastic bag and the other half in the other plastic bag.Take all the air out of the bag and seal it up. Put the bag on the bench and after an hour make an observation. Leave there for at least 24 hours. Open the bag and see what you can do with it.

The Coke And Mentos Experiment

In reading we did an experiment and a Padlet to show the coke and Mentos experiment. We used different flavours and they were: fruit, rainbow, chocolate, caramel and spearmint. We tipped 1/4th out of the bottle, then we labelled the bottles to show what Mentos we were going to put in them. First we experimented with the spearmint Mentos and it worked well. Next we did the fruit Mentos and it did the same as the spearmint Mentos. Then we did the chocolate caramel Mentos. At first it did nothing, but then it fizzed a little bit. After that we did the rainbow Mentos but it did nothing. After a few minutes it started to fizz. 

Visiting Grandad

Beep, beep, beep, the elevator had reached the ground floor. My stomach felt funny as me and mum walked out of the elevator. I just wanted to see Grandad, but all the other people stared at me and it made me feel dizzy. I was shaking rapidly, even though this was a family thing. I was light headed and breathing fast. I whispered to mum, "Can we go?" She said "Soon, ok." I couldn't take it anymore, these people were like zombies and I just wanted Grandad to get better, but it was too late.

Student Blogging Challenge Week 3

Today we learnt about a place called Creative Commons. On this website, you can use videos, images and music without special permission from the owner. People around the world upload images they are willing to share on Creative Commons. We watched a video on how to use Creative Commons.

Green Pastures Camp

At the start of week seven, we had to come to school in our muffy clothes and have our suitcases and bags packed for camp at Green Pastures. We got transported in different parent's vehicles. When we got there I had no idea where to go because it was my first time there but I got used to it. We went into the dining room to get told the rules by someone called Liam who I think was the owner of Green Pastures. After 45 minutes or so we got to do our first activity, my groups one was the horizontal bungee, you had to walk as far as you could without being flung back by the bungee. My favourite activity was air-rifle shooting, I was quite good at it, I got the targets 2 times in a row and didn't need much help reloading the weapon.

Invisible Marble

Invisible Marble

Hypothesis: I think that the colour will wash away in the marble.

Materials: water, a cup and a marble made of special plastic.

Procedure: 1. Fill a cup up with water. 2. Get a special plastic marble. 3. Put the marble into the cup. 4. Wait a while and see what happens.

Observation: The marble sank to the bottom. The marble disappeared and there were air bubbles surrounding it. The marble soaked up the water and after a few minutes it grew bigger. The marble is squishy and clear, you can see through it. The marble remains invisible but if you put your finger in the cup you can feel it. Result: The marble pushed air into the cup which created air bubbles.
When it absorbed water the air bubbles were pushed away.
The marble is invisible because it has camouflaged into the water. Adaptation: I would use a different colour water and see if it turned the marble a different colour.
